It looks like Taylor Swift has struck a nerve yet again.
After the pop superstar publicly threw her support behind Kamala Harris for the 2024 presidential race, former Fox News host Megyn Kelly had a full-on meltdown on her podcast, sparking a heated reaction to Swift’s political move.
During her YouTube show, The Megyn Kelly Show, Kelly lashed out at Swift, warning her that aligning with the Democratic ticket could alienate her Republican fans. “You can kiss your sales to the Republican audience goodbye, Taylor; hope you enjoyed them while you had them,” Kelly remarked shortly after Tuesday’s presidential debate.
The conservative commentator then read part of Swift’s statement, in which the singer praised Kamala Harris and her running mate, Tim Walz. Swift expressed admiration for Walz’s long-standing advocacy for LGBTQ+ rights, reproductive freedom, and support for IVF.
This endorsement didn’t sit well with Kelly. She was particularly irked by the mention of Walz’s stance on LGBTQ+ issues. Responding to criticism from her own viewers, Kelly doubled down, stating, “I’m allowed to criticize Taylor Swift, and I don’t care who gets upset about it. This is disgusting.”
Kelly’s fury didn’t stop there. She unloaded her frustration, accusing Swift of supporting policies she believes harm children. “If she wants to vote Harris-Walz, she can do it, but to say it’s because of Tim Walz’s stance on LGBTQ? Eff you, Taylor Swift. And eff everyone who supports policies that push kids into life-altering decisions while Swift rides off to her mansion, never thinking about the consequences.”
The rant quickly turned into a broader attack, with Kelly roping in Swift’s rumored boyfriend, NFL star Travis Kelce. “Taylor and Travis Kelce are the epitomes of elite snobs. They both have more money than they know what to do with. She doesn’t care about these kids, and he doesn’t care about the young men taking the Pfizer booster he’s been promoting.”
Kelly wasn’t alone in her disdain for Swift’s endorsement. Former President Donald Trump also chimed in during an appearance on Fox & Friends, making it clear he preferred Brittany Mahomes, wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, over Swift.
As Swift’s political involvement continues to spark outrage in certain circles, it’s clear that her influence goes beyond music—and some people aren’t ready for that.
