Vince Vaughn’s New Catchphrase: “Not You, Tom!” in BetMGM Super Bowl 2024 Ad

Vince Vaughn has a new motto that’s turning heads: “Not you, Tom!” The comedic actor has teamed up with the legendary Tom Brady for a memorable BetMGM Super Bowl 2024 commercial, but there’s a twist—Brady isn’t allowed to use the app.

In the ad, Vaughn, 53, humorously declares, “BetMGM is for everyone that loves sports betting… except for Tom Brady.” The former NFL star, now 46, appears baffled as he stands in a luxurious oceanfront setting.

“Wait, what did I do?” Brady asks, his confusion palpable. Vaughn quickly explains with a grin, “The truth is, you’ve won too much, Tommy. Let others have their turn.”

This revelation sparks a series of amusing scenarios where various people, from a tailgater to a woman infatuated with Brady, and even his former babysitter, inquire about their betting privileges. Vaughn gives the green light to everyone except Brady, even replying with a tongue-in-cheek quip to the babysitter who reminisces about Brady’s mischievous past: “Well, then you die with your secrets. No one likes a snitch.”

The ad takes a comedic turn when Brady, attempting to disguise himself in a cowboy hat and sunglasses while playing pool, tries to sneak in under the alias “Tim Birdie.” Vaughn’s classic exasperation is on full display as he responds, “You already know the answer? Why ya putting us through it, with the clothes?”

The spot adds a playful jab at hockey legend Wayne Gretzky, who is shown using the BetMGM app, leaving Brady to question why Gretzky gets to play while he doesn’t. Vaughn sidesteps the query, cheekily noting he’s too busy “chopping it up” with the Great One.

Alex Zamiar, group creative director at Highdive, the agency behind the ad, explained, “When Tom Brady came on board, we wanted to showcase his legendary status in a humorous way. Tom’s ability to excel at everything made the idea of him being excluded from something quite amusing. Thankfully, he embraced the humor and the concept took off.”

Interestingly, despite the playful exclusion, Brady’s pool skills shone brightly during filming. “Tom sank nearly every shot during the pool scenes,” Zamiar revealed. “It’s clear he’s good at everything, which makes this commercial all the more relatable—at least we can all enjoy a bit of fun at something he can’t dominate!”
